Got to Nsaba between 4 & 5 this afternoon. Definately the rainy season in Ghana right now. Traffic getting out of Accra was challenging - at best. Nevertheless, the Ghanians are comfortable with tropical rain and traffic - it's probably just us folks from Memphis that find it challengng. Michael the LWW in-country technician met us here in Nsaba. Good to see MIchael again.
We met with Rev Simon Kofi (RSK) who is the head of the training center here in Nsaba. The trainng center serves as a geograhical resource to the PCG for catecist (lay persons in the church that assist the ministers and congregation) training, the secondary school next door to the training center feeds their students 3 times a day at the training center, and so on. The meeting set up a very frutiful day for tomorrow - RSK informed us that not only is the church adjacent to the training center getting involved with the LWW system at the training center - but the headmaster for the secondary school has also shown interest in recommiting to using the LWW system. So in addition to Shari's training classes and Forrest's and Michael's "tweaking" of the system itself - Jim and I will be having disucssions with RSK, the church elders, & the headmaster of the secondary school about the "renewal" and "recommitment" to the LWW system.
Flying into Accra today we entered the African Continent at the southwest corner of the Sahara desert. On the map doesn't look that big...flying over the southwest corner of the Sahara desert - it's big - same observation from last year.
People have asked for ore pictures - so here are a couple from the plane as we were landing of the cloudy rainy season and the lush countryside of Ghana
